• When you are accessing PDB as a subscriber or as a non-subscriber, it is assumed that you have read these terms and conditions.

  You, your, subscriber(s), user(s)–these terms are being used to address the people who are accessing the প্রকল্পperiodicalDB website.

  • The short form of প্রকল্পperiodicalDB is PDB.

  • These terms and conditions may be modified by PDB at its own discretion without prior notice. You are responsible for checking these terms and conditions periodically to remain in compliance with these terms. Your use of PDB after any modifications to the terms and conditions shall constitute your acceptance of these modified terms and conditions.

  • PDB is a Bengali educational research website. It provides contents from early Bengali periodicals in a systematic manner. Also, PDB would have contents from current Bengali periodicals following the terms agreed between the publishers and PDB.

  • This is a progressive website. It is planned that there will be regular inclusion of new data. However, new data may not be included for any duration and PDB is under no obligation to include new data.

  • You will be regarded as a subscriber if you are granted full access to the website when you pay the subscription amount by choosing a subscription plan.

  • You are not a partner of PDB, irrespective of whether you have paid any subscription amount. The user cannot stake claim to any ownership or benefits from the revenue of PDB.

  • Non-subscribers do not have full access to the PDB website.

  • It is your responsibility to provide us with correct information while registering and filling in the subscription request form. PDB is not responsible for misleading information in the subscriber information database.

  • PDB is not responsible for leak of the information you provide to subscribe to PDB if any kind of unauthorised access is made to the PDB database. Even after your paid subscription period ends, the information you had provided while subscribing shall remain in the records of PDB and PDB shall not be held responsible for any unauthorised leak from this database.

  • PDB shall not be held responsible for the confidentiality of your PDB account password.

  • After paying the entire subscription amount, account activation may be delayed beyond expected timelines. No compensation or refund is permissible to the user for any such delay. The validity of the access to the PDB website shall commence from the date of activation of the subscription request.

  • If a user sends part of the subscription amount, the account will neither be activated nor will the amount paid be refunded. The amount will be forfeited by the user. Users may email [email protected] to rectify accidental inaccuracies in the payment.

  • Other than through the transaction information provided on the subscription page, there is no other method through which PDB shall ask any user for any money. Please do not pay any money through any other method for subscription to PDB. PDB shall not be held responsible if the user follows any unauthorised/ misleading/ impersonating method of subscription to PDB. There are no third-party websites which can offer subscriptions to PDB. PDB shall only send emails regarding subscription from <[email protected]> and <[email protected]>. No refund can be issued from PDB’s end if the user follows any unauthorised/ misleading/ impersonating method of subscription to PDB. 

  • PDB reserves the right to make alterations on the website without prior notice.

  • PDB reserves the right to change subscription fees without prior notice.

  • You are requested to read and refer to the user manual to use this website.

  • By subscribing to PDB you are only allowed to use the data of PDB for your personal use. You may put a reference for PDB in your research work/ publications.

  • PDB logo, design and illustrations cannot be copied, reused, reproduced or manipulated. The presentation of data and the layout of the PDB website cannot be copied, reused, reproduced or manipulated.

  • Terms such as প্রকল্পperiodicalDB/ periodicalDB/ PDB, website section names/ terms cannot be copied for any other products or services.

  • No write-up from প্রকল্প প্রস্তাবনা or সহায়িকা or any other parts of the website can be copied.

  • You will not attempt to hack or password-mine or attempt any other means of cyber attack or digital denial of service attack to disrupt the services of the PDB website. You will not attempt to disrupt the website and ask for bitcoins or any other ransom. You will not attempt to place unreasonable or excessive load on the PDB website.

  • You will not attempt to obtain information from PDB through any means not explicitly and intentionally made available by PDB.

  • You cannot impersonate any team members of PDB or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any team members of PDB.

  • PDB shall not be held responsible for any damage to your digital devices or digital networks that may occur as a result of any computer virus unintentionally existing on the PDB website and placed there by unauthorised means.

  • Service may be suspended for a duration for unforeseen reasons or for maintenance. No refund shall be issued for such suspension.

  • The service may be modified or discontinued entirely without prior notice. No refund shall be issued in such circumstances.

  • PDB shall not be held responsible for any inaccuracies in the content published on PDB. Users may email [email protected] to rectify inaccuracies in the content.

  • PDB reserves the right to place banners, of any nature whatsoever, including paid advertising material on the PDB website. The user cannot claim to get advertising-free content having paid subscription fees. Nor can the user claim to get a portion of the advertising revenue.

  • PDB may send information and offers regarding the PDB website to the subscribers or to former subscribers whose tenure of subscription has ended.

  • This agreement shall be governed by the laws of India. The courts of law at Kolkata, West Bengal, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising under this agreement. Any dispute is to be settled only at law courts in Kolkata.

  • These terms and conditions supersede any prior terms and conditions between PDB and the user.

  • If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you may refrain from registering with PDB.
